Truepic joins partnership on AI framework for collective action in synthetic media

Truepic, a provider of internet trust infrastructure, has announced its participation in the Responsible Practises Partnership for AI Synthetic Media: Framework for Collective Action. Truepic and technology industry giants such as Adobe, Meta, Microsoft, and Google use this platform to design, generate, exchange, and recognise synthetic media in a responsible manner.

Truepic has been developing technology that enables openness, disclosure, and trust in visual content since its inception in 2016. Truepic has cooperated with MIT Media Lab researchers to add safe encrypted content credentials to more than 30 AI-generated movies as part of its ongoing research into political deepfakes. Truepic has also collaborated with renowned production studio Revel.ai and generative AI thought leader Nina Thicke to develop the world’s first transparent film with cryptographic signatures to show video provenance. Truepic is devoted to defining and implementing technology standards to prove the origin and provenance of digital media as a founding member of the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) and the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI).

Likewise, the Partnership on AI (PAI) Responsible Practise Framework for Synthetic Media is founded on the fundamental values of transparency, disclosure, and permission. The first-of-its-kind framework offers guidelines for technical infrastructure architects, makers, distributors, and publishers who contribute to the societal impact of synthetic media. PAI describes crucial technologies for generating and sharing synthetic media in an ethical manner, such as the C2PA open standard, and its rules will change in tandem with new technology. PAI is a non-profit collaboration of academic, civil society, industry, and media organisations that develops solutions for how AI may benefit individuals and society. It is an iterative, multi-stakeholder collaboration to design frameworks. The procedure was led by you.

Truepic joins Thorn, Meedan, and Code for Africa as framework launch partners. Truepic continues to pioneer projects that provide interoperable, safe, and tamper-proof transparency and disclosure for synthetic media and AI-generated material at the moment of creation.
